🏆Congratulations to Archie Hazell for being the 2024 winner of the Sharps Redmore Acoustic Consultants Prize! 🏆
This award is given to one outstanding student from Anglia Ruskin University’s BSc (Hons) Audio and Music Technology course each year, who is hand selected due to their exceptional work during their time at Anglia Ruskin.
This year, Archie’s dissertation was titled “To what extent does the harmonic distortion characteristics of a single band compressor and multi-band compressor compare through the frequency spectrum and can distortion in a multi-band compressor be reduced?”
This final project involved complex programming to explore how compression creates harmonic distortion, concluding that both single and multi-band compressors share distortion traits such as total harmonic distortion, but differ in terms of intermodulation and linearity.
